子曰：“三军可夺帅也，匹夫不可夺志也。”

  “理想”这个词，在孔子时代称为“志”，就是人的志向、志气。“匹夫不可夺志”，反映出孔子对于“志”的高度重视，甚至将它与三军之帅相比。对于一个人来讲，他有自己的独立人格，任何人都无权侵犯。作为个人，他应维护自己的尊严，不受威胁利诱，始终保持自己的“志向”。这就是中国人“人格”观念的形成及确定。
